Furniture buying consortium Contemporary Design Group has added four new furniture retail members.
CDG's newest members are Century House, Madison, Wis.; Circle Furniture, Acton, Mass.; Forma Furniture, Fort Collins, Colo.; and Scan Home, Anchorage, Ak.
Decorum Furniture, Norfolk, Va., joined CDG earlier this year.
"We are thrilled to add these five stores to the CDG network," said Howard Haimsohn, president of San Diego-based CDG. "Their knowledge and experience will strengthen CDG and bring tremendous added value to all of the members of the organization.

The Sustainable Furnishings Council and media partner Dwell magazine will participate in the first American Institute of Architect's Homes Tour on the East Coast.
The AIA Triangle Homes Tour is scheduled for Oct. 2.
The featured architects and award homes provide insight into the variety of residential living and spaces in central North Carolina and offer participants on the Tour the opportunity to visit and discover how an architect can inspire and create a positive, sustainable living space through choice in direction, planning, materials, and products.
Susan Inglis, executive director of the Sustainable Furnishings Council, will participate in panel discussions leading up to the event. Those are scheduled for Sept. 14, 7-9 p.m. at the Raleigh City Museum; and Sept. 17, 7-9 p.m. at Fullsteam Brewery in Durham N.C.

Eco-friendly home fashions brand Portico Home & Spa has launched its Genius collection of sheets made with a 60/40 percent blend of organic cotton and Tencel Micro.
Portico will introduce the new line next week at the Home Fashion Products Association's New York Home Fashions Market.
The Genius collection is available in fig, stone, earth, and cloud colors. TENCEL is a fine cellulose-based fiber made in a closed loop processing system, is known for being soft, wrinkle resistant, absorbent, and durable.
Portico Home & Spa launched its first bed and bath collection of items made with organic cotton at the Fall 2009 HFPA show. The cotton in the Essential Bedding and bath collections has been certified to the Global Organic Textile Standard which prohibits the use of toxic inputs during textile processing.
