Veranda by Fine Furniture Design, a 53-piece collection that brings trends from the interior design magazine and craftsmanship together, made a successful debut last month and is already receiving a strong response from consumers based on feedback from retailers including Louis Shanks Furniture and Furnitureland South.

Studio 1200, a New Jersey-based Architecture and Interior Design firm picked up two awards at the 14th Annual IIDA (International Interior Design Association) PA/NJ/DE Chapter Design Awards, held in Philadelphia last month. The “2018 Best of Residential“ and “2018 Viewer’s Choice” awards were accepted by Senior Creative Director Susan Menk and Designer Lydia Gallo.

The Sustainable Furnishings Council (SFC) is offering GREENleaders certified sustainability training on Oct. 4, at the Morimar Design Center in Estero, FL. and Nov. 9 at Parsons Healthy Materials Lab, in New York City. The comprehensive 6-hour exam program provides designers, retailers, manufacturers, reps and others the knowledge and credentials to become an expert in sustainability.

Dallas Total Home & Gift Market welcomed more businesses from key states as well as businesses attending for the first time at the show in June. Many exhibitors reported larger average orders, and a total sales increase of up to thirty percent, especially among exhibitors with new products, new showrooms, and/or special promotions. The result was consistent, deep order writing across the show, according to a press release.

Austin, Tx.-based Four Hands nearly doubled their revenue within a five year period, projecting $160 million in sales this year. The significant growth is credited to their loyal following, which includes over 12,000 business-to-business customers with notable retailers such as West Elm, Crate & Barrel, Pottery Barn, Neiman Marcus, RH, and top interior designers as well as over 500 trade applications per month from those wanting to become registered Four Hand customers.

Art Van Furniture will celebrate the grand opening of its 15,000 square foot showroom in East Peoria, ILL., with a ribbon-cutting at noon on Thursday, July 12. Local dignitaries including City Administrator Jeffery Eder and City Commissioners John Kahl and Gary Densberger as well as several east Peoria Chamber of Commerce ambassadors are expected to attend.
