Reziapova to Head Theodore Alexander Russia, E. Europe Sales

High-end furniture manufacturer Theodore Alexander has promoted Dinara Reziapova to regional sales manager for Russia and Eastern Europe.

The move illustrates the importance of the Russian Federation and other Eastern European markets in the continued strategic growth for the brand. Previously, Reziapova was a sales representative for Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam-based Theodore Alexander in Eastern Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States. She also assisted in the development of two of Theodore Alexander's collections from two Russian museums, The State Hermitage and Pavlovsk Palace.

In her new position, Reziapova will work with existing distributors and retailers in the territory to enhance awareness and sales of the Theodore Alexander brand, and create business opportunities in Eastern European countries yet to be served by the brand. She also will ensure Theodore Alexander products are marketed and merchandised in a manner in keeping with the brand's luxury position, and provide all customers in the region with service and support.

Reziapova is based in St. Petersburg, Russia, and has been with the company since 2006. Prior to joining Theodore Alexander, Reziapova was a multi-lingual translator. She reports to David Parker, vice president, international sales.

Gary Schroeder Dies at 75

Longtime furniture executive Gary Keith Schroeder of Glendale, Ariz., died last week at age 75 at Banner Hospital in Phoenix.

After graduating from Susquehanna University, where he played football under Alonzo Stagg, in 1957, Schroeder started working for Pittsburgh, Pa.-based Joseph Horne Co. as a sales rep. He later moved to Monroe, Mich., where he served 15 years as executive vice president of sales and marketing for La-Z-Boy Chair Co.

At La-Z-Boy, he helped make La-Z-Boy a household name and attracted the talents of Joe Namath, Don Shula, Jim Backus, Alex Karras and Bo Schem bechler as spokesmen for the company. He served as president of the National American Furniture Manufacturers in 1974 and 1975.

In 1977, Schroeder became executive vice president of Kroehler Furniture Co., Naperville, Ill. In 1981, he and Jerome Schottenstein became partners in the Kroehler Chair Co. located in Newport, Tenn., for several years. He eventually moved to Arizona, working for the Philip Bell Co. and Artesan Home Furnishings.

Schroeder is survived by his wife, brother, nine children and 28 grandchildren.

A memorial service was held Wednesdayat Christ's Church of the Valley in Peoria, Ill. A second memorial service will be held at a later date in Prompton, Pa., where he will be buried. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gary Schroeder Memorial Fund, 8280 E. Gelding, Scottsdale, Ariz. 85260.

Robb & Stucky to Debut Keno Line in Boca Raton

High-end furniture retailer Robb & Stucky Interiors is set to debut the Keno Bros. collection from Theodore Alexander at its Boca Raton, Fla., store.

Celebrity twin brothers and antiques experts Leigh and Leslie Keno designed the line of hand-crafted, classically modern furniture. With an avid interest in beautiful and rare Americana for more than 30 years, the Keno brothers are considered among the country€™s foremost experts on antiques. As appraisers on the Emmy-nominated hit PBS television show, Antiques Roadshow, they have garnered a dedicated following of around 10 million weekly viewers.  

Their collection includes approximately 100 individual pieces, ranging in style from 18th-century classics to 20th-century modern adaptations, with almost 20 woods including mahogany, ebony, sycamore, tiger maple and rosewood.

The Keno brothers will appear at the Robb & Stucky showroom in Boca Raton on Feb. 11 at 2 p.m. to help launch the collection.

Fort Myers, Fla.-based Robb & Stucky has showrooms in Florida, Nevada, Texas and Arizona.

All-Industry Conference Offers Press Release Template

The all-industry gathering is set for April 30-May 2 at the Westin River Walk in San Antonio, Texas.

The release includes information about the conference, including an agenda and quotes from Howard Haimsohn, owner of Lawrance Contemporary in San Diego, and HFIC committee chairman. The release can be tailored to include quotes from and information about participating companies.

Spring Air Heads to AmericasMart

Spring Air and sister company Nature's Rest will showcase mattresses in a new AmericasMart showroom at the Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market next month.

Spring Air, celebrating its 85th anniversary in 2011, will return to the Atlanta show after a 20-year absence in 3,000-square-foot showroom in space 5-F-1 of AmericasMart's Building 1.

"Many of the buyers for larger regional, national and big box companies come to this Market, and these same buyers also make the purchasing decisions on mattresses for their companies," said Spring Air President Wes Price. "We want to bring bedding back to Atlanta, and the best vehicle for this is to show at AmericasMart, which is the most central location for the Eastern half of the U.S."

In its new Atlanta showroom, Spring Air and Nature's Rest will showcase its renowned line of mattresses and specialty sleep products, as well as Chattam & Wells Luxury bedding. PriceWesner Bedding also will show its The BedBoss Collection of memory foam beds from a three-bed collection of USA-Made memory foam beds and Leggett and Platt adjustable beds.
