Mobitics Shopping App Tied to Barcodes

By Home Furnishings Business in Retail Technology on January 6, 2011

Mobitics has introduced Ratingly, a free smartphone app that allows consumers to review and recommend any consumer product using the product's barcode.

"This new App will give consumers information on over 1 million products at their fingertips and in a very quick and convenient way when making everyday purchases," said Jaime Schuster, president of Mobitics. "It also enables the sharing of experiences and recommendations on consumer products in the marketplace."

Using state-of-the-art barcode scanning functionality, the Ratingly App allows users to:
* Scan any consumer product in the marketplace to review it.
* Search from more than 1 million products (and more being added every day) to find top-rated products, recommendations and comments from other users.
* Follow favorite products and/or users to get updates on new reviews.

Ratingly is creating a community of consumers and products based on their reviews, reactions and recommendations. The App is available and ready to use without the need to earn badges or win points. Users only need to sign up and they will be ready to find top-rated products or recommend a product.

Ratingly also provides users the ability to share their opinions via their Twitter accounts. Ratingly is also pursuing partnerships with consumer brands to provide its users with deals, coupons and discounts on their favorite products.
