Cresent Fine Furniture will launch a new mixed direct container program at Las Vegas Furniture Market, Jan. 24-28.
The new container program allows retailers to select from six of Gallatin, Tenn.-based Cresent's best-selling solid wood bedroom and entertainment collections, and save significantly on transportation costs. Cresent's Las Vegas showroom is located in space C-1138 of the World Market Center.
To date, Cresent has offered retailers the choice of buying merchandise from its Tennessee Quality Assurance Distribution Center or in full containers of a specific collection. The new program offers retailers additional flexibility of picking their desired shipping and receiving dates to coincide with targeted promotional events. Cresent has increased the number of collections available under the program to six solid wood bedrooms and ten media consoles. Retailers can pick the pieces they want to mix on the container.
"The new program is particularly beneficial to retailers located in the western half of the U.S.," said Cresent Vice President of Marketing Richard Tomkins. "With fuel prices increasing, LTL shipping costs are going up and this new program will significantly reduce the landed cost of our furniture for most retailers."
Tomkins added that Cresent is stocking its six best sellers in its Vietnam warehouse and offering a great variety of merchandise that West Coast retailers can receive product in as little as three weeks from order confirmation, all at greatly reduced landed prices.
National Sales Manager John Cash has previewed the program with the company's key retailers over the past month.
"There is great interest both from West Coast retailers as well as those in the East," he said. "The ability to pick your arrival date and the range of solid wood bedrooms and entertainment consoles available have been the most attractive selling points."
