Pontotoc, Miss.-based upholstery producer Delta Furniture Co. plans to expand its operations and create close to 50 new jobs, according to the
Picayune Item.
The company plans to move from its current 100,000-square-foot factory to a 220,000-square-foot building owned by the city of Pontotoc. The company said it will invest more than $590,000 over the next three years.
The Mississippi Development Authority provided funding for public building improvements. The City of Pontotoc also provided funding for public infrastructure improvements.

Ralph Lauren Home, a division of Polo Ralph Lauren Corp., and rug vendor Safavieh have signed an exclusive license agreement.
Under the agreement, Safavieh will produce area rugs under both the Ralph Lauren Home and Lauren Ralph Lauren Home brands.
The program will include handmade and machine made rugs in a full range of sizes and styles, and will be made in Safavieh's exclusive manufacturing facilities. The first collection is scheduled for introduction at the Atlanta International Rug Market in January 2011.
"Safavieh's passion for quality and craftsmanship coupled with their firm grasp of both the Ralph Lauren and Lauren brands make them an ideal partner as we enter into this new line of business," said Frank Guzzetta, president of Ralph Lauren Home.
"Our approach in this launch was to develop luxury area rugs infused with the spirit of the Ralph Lauren brand, addressing a complete range of lifestyles to further complement the pieces within the Ralph Lauren Home collection," said Safavieh Principal Arash Yaraghi.

The International Textile Market Assn., which will host its semiannual Showtime fabric market Dec. 5-8 in High Point, has announced the event's dates through 2015.
The 2011 shows are set for June 5-8 and Dec. 4-7; 2012, June 3-6 and Dec. 2-5; 2013, June 2-5 and Dec. 8-11; 2014, June 1-4 and Dec. 7-10; 2015, May 31-June 3 and Dec. 13-16.
At Showtime, approximately 200 ITMA Members present their latest fabric, trim and leather introductions primarily for the home furnishings industry. Showtime is recognized as the largest decorative textile show in the Western Hemisphere.
Showtime typically attracts guests from more than 800 companies, who come to view new introductions and place order for decorative products from the mills, converters, tanneries and trimming manufacturers that are members of the ITMA.
