Four Hands to Distribute d-Bodhi in North America

By Home Furnishings Business in Las Vegas on July 20, 2011

Lifetstyle home furnishings vendor Four Hands has been named exclusive North American distributor for eco-friendly European design house d-Bodhi.

Four Hands, Austin, Texas, will debut five new d-Bodhi collections in  a variety of reclaimed materials and boat wood fused with scrap iron and recycled denim at the August 1-5 Las Vegas Furniture Market

Artisans at d-Bodhi transform rough nail-filled wood from old houses and boats, scrap iron from ships and even recycled denim into furnishings for homes, offices, retail shops and restaurants. The five d-Bodhi collections marry the edgy, urban look of galvanized steel with the warmth of reclaimed teak and recycled boat wood.

"d-Bodhi has always grabbed our attention with cutting edge design combined with some of the most impressive visual merchandising in the industry," said Matthew Briggs, CEO and president of Four Hands. "They have a very dynamic design team and emphasize minimizing their eco-foot print. That philosophy marries well with our existing eco-friendly product lines, and we are thrilled to bring the d-Bodhi collections to America."

d-Bodhi collections at Las Vegas Market include:
* Bow Front with gently rounded fronts and legs, and metal nail studs for a vintage appeal on burnished-iron drawers and doors; softly colored pieces of reclaimed teak wood on sides and shelves; and brushed-iron bars providing structure.
* d-bright floor, table and wall lamps, with subtle industrial design using small scraps of recycled teak wood to form the base of several models.
* Spike, with smooth rounded corners of brushed-iron bands combined with solid reclaimed teak wood and floating tops; with rich deep grey or white on burnished metal drawers and doors complementing the warm honey colored wood.
* Street Art, designed from weathered pieces of recycled teak wood, with faded paint and twisted iron legs. A portion of the proceeds goes to benefit local children€™s charities.
* Key, inspired by trestle tables from medieval times, solid teak wood is laminated to an MDF inner core and supported by massive iron keyhole-shaped trestles.
