Woolrich Launches Latest Digital Catalog

By Home Furnishings Business in Internet on July 15, 2011

Woolrich Home's latest digital catalog offers new online tools for retailers and designers, and the one-stop viewing of the entire Woolrich Home offering.

Enhanced online tools offered in the catalog include photos and product descriptions that can be downloaded in pdf form or printed as needed, and pages and products can be bookmarked with notes attached, or easily shared with others.

Sharon Kepley, licensing manager for home furnishings at Woolrich Home, said the most advantageous tool the digital catalog is the ability to see more than 300 products from the entire complement of Woolrich Home brand partners in one place.

"This is particularly important since each company has its own distribution channels and sales teams," Kepley said.

Brand partners and licensees include Shadow Mountain (furniture); JLA Home (bedding ensembles, textile wall art and decorative pillows); Picture Source (wall decor); Whitecraft (indoor/outdoor furniture); Mohawk Home (area rugs); Lynn Haney Collection (holiday collectibles); PM&J (pet beds and accessories; and Rowe Pottery Works (tabletop and garden decor).

"Enhanced analytics will enable us to track the most frequently viewed products, as well as products that are bookmarked and the region of the country the user comes from," Kepley said. "The feedback will be invaluable for future product development at Woolrich Home."

By Home Furnishings Business in on July 15, 2011

Online home furnishings retailer One Kings Lane will receive the 2011 "Rising Star" Award, at the 60th Annual Retailer Excellence Awards in New York City.

The New York International Gift Fair is the leading sponsor of the industry event, which has been presented annually by Gifts & Decorative Accessories magazine since 1951.

One Kings Lane is a membership-based site which offers daily sales on top home decor brands and designer merchandise. Limited quantities of products, which go on sale for 72 hours at up to 70 percent off retail pricing, are primarily manufacturers' samples or overstock items.

"One Kings Lane has introduced an important new web-based opportunity for our industry," said Dorothy Belshaw, NYIGF director and GLM senior vice president. "This branded on-line platform enables vendors to move excess inventory quickly, efficiently and without disruption to established channels of retail distribution. We're delighted to recognize the contributions of this exciting new player."

The REAs recognize excellence in four retail categories (Store Design/Redesign; Visual Merchandising; Marketing Achievement and Store Events), as well as for individual achievement (Outstanding Manufacturer's Rep and Rising Star). As part of this very special evening, Gift For Life, the gift and home industry's only charitable organization, will present its 2011 Industry Achievement Award to Michael Aram; and Gifts & Decorative Accessories will present a special Lifetime Achievement Award to Su Hilty, who is retiring after a long career in the retailing and home furnishings industries.
