By Home Furnishings Business in Las Vegas on July 19, 2011

Nathan Turner has joined the panel of design experts taking part in the "Ahead of the Curve" trend discussion at Las Vegas Furniture Market, Aug. 1-5.

Turner, star of Bravo TV€™s "Million Dollar Decorators," joins co-star Jeffrey Alan Marks and Anthony Baratta for the presentation, which will take place at 9 a.m. (pacific), August 3, in World Market Center C352, as well as simulcast live on the Web.

"Every year when we get together for Ahead of the Curve there are new trends to unveil," said Susanna Salk, design author and TODAY show style contributor who has moderated the program since its inception in August 2007. "The designers who join us each year bring their own style and personality. We are beyond thrilled to add Nathan to the group, and look forward to seeing what his eclectic and discerning tastes will uncover."

A fourth-generation Californian, Turner began his career by combining his passions for design, travel and food to create his eponymous shop. His store reflects the years of travel under his belt, and has become a faithful source for the country€™s leading interior designers, as well as some of the most stylish individuals from coast to coast. In 2008, he branched out to launch his own collection of upholstered furniture for Elite Leather. A natural when it comes to identifying a good find, Turner will bring his keen eye to this year's Summer Market, as he pinpoints next season€™s trends.

William Diamond of Diamond Baratta Design will regrettably not be able to attend this year€™s panel due to unforeseen circumstances.

Ethan Allen Contract Renovates New Jersey Inn

By Home Furnishings Business in Furniture Retailing on July 18, 2011

Ethan Allen's Contract Division has completed renovation of the Inn at Lambertville Station, on the Delaware River in historic Lambertville, N.J.

The five-month project includes 45 contemporary restyled rooms and a renovated lobby.

The Ethan Allen Contract Division design team spent a week exploring the area's rich history, architecture, local attractions and bed and breakfast culture, looking for ways to stylistically capitalize on the location while introducing a modern aesthetic.

"The Inn, with its waterfront setting, is a vantage point for tremendous natural beauty," said Jim DeBernardo, director of display planning for Ethan Allen, Danbury, Conn. "As a point of connection to Lambertville Station's perennially picturesque environment, we designed each room as an oasis of calm with a contemporary, neutral palette, adding splashes of color and pattern for a warm, hospitable ambience."

The Inn's 45 rooms now feature six design styles ranging from standard and deluxe accommodations to suites.  Throughout, a juxtaposition of distinctive wood finishes with glass, metal, and richly patterned and colored textiles provides great depth in the design, while complementing the existing traditional architecture.  Textured wall coverings are durable, and add the natural look of grasscloth.

The lobby also a fresh new look with Ethan Allen furnishings arranged in small seating areas around the fireplace, designed to encourage conversation.

"Now more than ever, The Inn at Lambertville Station offers business and leisure guests a luxurious retreat, surrounded by the natural beauty of Lambertville, but infused with the comforts of modern design," said Dan Whitaker, co-owner of the Inn with Rose DiMarco, Skip DiMarco and Michael Dougherty.
