David’s Furniture Designer Wins Harden Home Studio Customization Contest

By Home Furnishings Business in Furniture Retailing on July 2007 Dean Touloumes, an interior designer on staff at David’s Furniture and Interiors in Harrisburg, Pa., has won Harden Furniture’s “Best Customization Story Contest,” a special promotion from the McConnellsville, N.Y., manufacturer for its Harden Home Studio dealers.

The prize is an expense-paid trip for two to San Francisco, which includes tickets to Western Interiors magazine’s Annual Design + Home Show, Oct. 26-28. Touloumes winning submission was an amusing recap of his customer’s quest to select the perfect seat cushions for one of Harden’s upholstered wedge sofas, which included several hours of test-sitting the complete selection of cushion fillings. The couple, with help from a friend, finally settled on a relaxed down option.

The winning story was drawn at Harden’s June Customer Day event in McConnellsville, and the winning certificate was recently presented to Touloumes by Harden sales representative Jim Mosellen in Davids Harrisburg location.

Harden Furniture President Greg Harden will be a guest presenter at “The Green Room” during the Western Interiors fall event and will speak on the topic of sustainable manufacturing and environmental stewardship.
