Rose Furniture Assets on Auction Block

By Home Furnishings Business in High Point on July 2007 The assets of Rose Furniture Co. in High Point are set to be auctioned Aug. 17 through a sealed-bid format.

Audie Cashion, president of Alpha World Properties, the agency marketing the building, sees the property as a perfect solution for Asian manufacturers looking to enter the U.S. market with a more focused distribution strategy.

Cashion said he sees a developing trend where Asian manufacturers buy U.S. companies to collapse the costly and less-effective distribution channels in an attempt to increase profitability and inventory turns while segmenting their markets.

“It eliminates the pain of say a Chinese manufacturer stacking up inventory which becomes obsolete so they can control their destiny to enter the U.S. market directly and effectively,” Cashion said. “Unlike other cities, High Point provides the furnishings best practices, intellectual capital, and ease of access to a greater majority of the U.S. population within a day’s truck drive giving companies the resources and location they need to be successful.”

Rose Furniture went into bankruptcy for the second time May 25.

For complete details of the offering, contact Cashion at audie@alphawp.com. All bids must be e-mailed to the same address by 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17.
