A Tuesday fire damaged a La-Z-Boy furniture store's warehouse, the Chattanooga Times Free Press reported.
The main store received minor smoke damage, according to a Chattanooga Fire Department spokesman.
The store manager found thick smoke when he wen to investigate a "popping sound" in the warehouse. The fire alarm activated, and the sprinkler system limited the fire until firefighters could extinguish it.
Fire damage was limited to a few pieces of furniture. The manager went to a nearby hospital for treatment for smoke inhalation. The fire remains under investigation.

Artists Guild of America will open another
High Point Furniture Market showroom next month in IHFC-H435.
Thirty-five-year-old, Los Angeles-based Artists Guild of America designs and produces contemporary and transitional works of art, all made in the U.S.A.
"As a domestic producer we have the ability to customize our paintings to our customers' specs, we ship quickly, and we require no minimums," said Vice President of Sales & Marketing Ron Munoz.
In addition to the new IHFC showroom, Artists Guild of America will continue to maintain its existing showroom, space 3123 in Showplace.

Ashley Furniture Homestores will open a new furniture store in a former Circuit City location in Plymouth Meeting, Pa.
Metro Commercial Real Estate Inc. negotiated the lease for the 33,000-square-foot building on behalf of the owners. Ashley Furniture was represented by Julius M. Feinblum Real Estate. The store is scheduled to open in December.
"By offering a sales environment that provides lifestyle visuals and design services, Ashley Furniture has established itself as one of the leading home furnishings retailers in the region," said Randy Hope of Metro Commercial Real Estate. "They will join established retailers IKEA, Home Depot and BJ's at Lincoln Court."
