Mattress Firm Creates "Air Conditioned" Bed

Bedding retailer Mattress Firm has teamed with auto industry seating developer Amerigon to create what it calls the world's first air conditioned bed.

Mattress Firm, Houston, is promoting the new bed, which uses the same technology found in luxury vehicles to heat and cool seats with ambient air, in a both at the State Fair of Texas.
 
The company cited research finding that temperature plays an important role in not only falling asleep faster, but staying asleep longer; and that the ideal sleep temperature varies from person to person.
