Marge Carson Holds National Sales Meeting

By Home Furnishings Business in Business Strategy on March 14, 2013

High-end full-line furniture vendor Marge Carson hosted more than 30 colleagues last month for a national sales meeting its new headquarters in Pomona, Calif.

The event--attended by domestic and international sales representatives, as well as the contract sales force and outside designers--was held Feb. 16-19, and gave Marge Carson's sales force their first opportunity to tour the new 72,000-square-foot facility.

€œDuring the course of the three-day meeting, we spent time not only on product training, but also on how we€™re utilizing our newly laid-out plant. It gives us the ability for improved efficiencies and better quality oversight,€ said Marge Carson President Will Sharp. €œWe reviewed product plans and future directions, and solicited feedback for upcoming introductions and marketing strategies.€

The gathering also focused on new corporate programs€”including a price-sensitive upholstery initiative and case goods stocking programs that will shorten lead times, as well as how sales representatives can train retailers and designers to sell the brand with confidence.

€œAttention to detail is what sets Marge Carson apart,€ Sharp said. €œWe showed them how to take that message home in several ways€”with photography, PowerPoint programs, our newly enhanced website, even a new app on iPad with design desk and wish list capabilities.

€œWe sent our sales representatives out with the ability to show Marge Carson product in the best possible light, giving them€”and, ultimately, their dealers€”complete confidence in our design leadership and quality.€
