Gift for Life, the gift, stationery and home decor industries' leading charitable organization, has teamed with the National Stationery Show to participate in AIDS Walk New York.
The charity fundraiser takes place Sunday, the opening day of the Show, in New York City.
The Gift For Life/National Stationery Show team will recruit walkers to raise funds for the fight against HIV/AIDS by participating in both the actual walk through Central Park and across New York Citys Upper West Side as well as in a virtual walk through the aisles of the Javits Center.
Editors of leading trade publications--such as Stationery Trends, Gift Shop, Gifts & Decorative Accessories, and Giftware News--have agreed to walk the National Stationery Show aisles wearing pedometers on Sunday, May 19, and to raise funds for the miles of aisles they cover during the Show.
Were delighted to bring the walk into the National Stationery Show and to involve exhibitor and attendees directly in our fundraising efforts this year, said Patti Stracher, general manager of the National Stationery Show. I am personally looking forward to supporting the Gift For Life/National Stationery Show team by wearing a pedometer during the show.
Industry members and friends are invited to join the Gift For Life/National Stationery team as both walkers and as donors. The 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) AIDS Walk New York begins on Sunday, May 19, at 10 a.m. in Central Park, or at 9 a.m. at New York Citys Jacob K. Javits Convention Center when the National Stationery Show opens its doors.
This is a great opportunity for everybody to get involved, said Stu Teller, Gift For Life chairmain. Whether you can walk in the AIDS Walk New York or through the aisles of Javits, we hope to get everyone involved in this great cause.

Since 1986, AIDS Walk New York has raised more than $128 million and has grown into the largest AIDS fundraising event in the world. In 2012 alone, 45,000 participants, many of whom were members of more than 3,000 corporate and community teams, raised more than $6 million.
