While retail sales bounced back in October, showing both monthly and year-over-year gains heading into the holiday shopping season, furniture & home furnishings as well as building and garden supply numbers were down both from the previous month and year over year. These numbers were according to the CNBC/NRF Retail Monitor, powered by Affinity Solutions, released by the National Retail Federation.
