Bob Craig, Currey & Co. Rep, Has Died

By Home Furnishings Business in Obituaries on January 18, 2012

Bob Craig, longtime Florida sales rep for Currey & Company, died New Year's Day. He was 74.

He had represented the company for more than 20 years.

"It would be easy to describe Bob Craig as the consummate salesman, but these words only scratch the surface as to the depth that Bob represented as a man," said Currey & Company Vice President of Sales Bob Ulrich. "He was everything that you could ask for in a rep and I often thought that 'if' we could clone a rep, we would want to clone Bob. As a representative he was professional, hard-working, dedicated, intelligent, and driven. Those qualities resulted in Bob being a top performer in sales volume every year for our company.

"Those were not what I remember most about him; he brought a sense of warmth, kindness and sincerity to his business that could overcome any hurdle thrown before him. I never left a meeting with Bob that did not end on a positive note. His ability to communicate was clear and re-assuring. His smile was always there to greet any situation."

Brownlee Currey, president, noted that Craig was a true gentleman and "a fabulous sales representative for our company. He stuck with us through both the good and the bad. We could not have asked for more."

Craig is survived by his wife of 30 years, Sherry Craig, his brother Tom Craig, five daughters and 10 grandchildren.
