Cindy Williams Named VP at Wright Global Graphic Solutions

Wright Global Graphic Solutions has named Cindy Williams vice president of sales for the company€™s Showroom Solutions Division.

She is responsible for spearheading showroom sales strategies while strengthening Thomasville, N.C.-based Wright€™s position within the industry. Williams will lead the company€™s growth within the showroom solutions space while focusing on retail point-of-purchase materials and in-store graphics.

€œCindy is a proven strategic leader with over 21 years of business development, marketing and executive management experience,€ said Wright President and CEO Greg Wright. €œShe is known for achieving excellent results within the bedding industry and having her on our team will reinforce our leadership role in this category and open the door for new opportunities in the future.€

Williams started her career in 1991 at Simmons Co., where she headed up the Special Sleep Division. While there, Williams was responsible for the creation and production of POP materials for the group. She played a key role in designing sales and training curriculum while facilitating the design of new training centers for Simmons sales representatives and customers.

Williams then served as the vice president of client services at Info Retail Inc. In her eight years there, she led the business development team while helping to develop sales strategies and goals for all targeted industries. Williams also had a key business development role within the home furnishings and bedding industries where she successfully grew the segment with the top manufacturers and retailers. Her efforts resulted in a strong and trusted reputation as well as a significant increase in revenue and profitability for the company.

After leaving Info Retail, Williams served as the senior vice president of marketing at King Koil.  

Williams is an active member of furniture industry women€™s leadership development network WithIt. She currently is the group€™s secretary and serves on its board. She is also an active member of the Better Sleep Council, where she serves as a member of the board.

Bombay, Arden Team for Outdoor Furnishings, Accessories

Home furnishings and decor brand Bombay Co. has a new licensee for outdoor lawn and garden categories with Arden Companies.

The collection will be introduced in 2013 and will be the first outdoor line for the Bombay brand. The collection will include cushions and pillows, outdoor furniture, structures, privacy screens, furniture covers, shades and umbrellas, lighting and solar, decorative accessories, storage, planters, hammocks, garden tools and accessories.
 
€œWe are pleased to announce our partnership with Arden Companies to mark the expansion of the Bombay brand into the outdoor category,€ said Wil Hollands, president of Hermes-Otto International USA and owner of The Bombay Company brand. €œEstablishing strong licensing partnerships is a fundamental element of our overall growth strategy, and we sought out Arden Companies as a partner because they are a known industry leader in the outdoor product category.€

The Bombay Co. will continue developing and maintaining long-term relationships with key retailers to expand their presence across multiple lifestyle categories. Hermes-Otto International will continue to directly design, source and import in their areas of core competency of furniture, décor, wall décor and seasonal categories.

Crate and Barrel, Alliance Data Renew Credit Agreement

Alliance Data Systems Corp. has signed a renewal agreement with home furnishings retailer Crate and Barrel to provide the company's private label credit card program.

This year, in partnership with Alliance Data, Crate and Barrel introduced a rewards-based credit card allowing consumer to earn rewards across its three brands.

Restoration Hardware Faces Lawsuit over Chair

A chair is at the center of a lawsuit filed against Restoration Hardware, the high-end furniture and decorations company that recently announced it will build a $22 million distribution center in Grand Prairie, Texas.

Emeco has filed a lawsuit against the retailer alleging the company and its former CEO sold an unauthorized reproduction of Emeco's Navy chair.

Former Furniture Store Owner Sent to Prison

A former Madison, Wis.-area furniture store owner was sentenced to five years in prison Thursday for selling the heroin that killed a 24-year-old McFarland man last year.

Peter T. Heine, 51, said he would be "sorry for the rest of my life" for the death of Anthony Heeb, whose father found him unconscious in his bedroom on May 5, 2011. He died soon after.
