Surya Gets Showroom Award in Atlanta

By Home Furnishings Business in on January 28, 2013

Home accessories supplier Surya was honored by AmericasMart  for its visual presentation in its new showroom at the recent Markets in Atlanta.

AmericasMart€™s Visual Display Awards recognized the achievements of companies across all product collections and categories. Judged by an independent team of visual merchandising experts, the awards recognized creative excellence for 33 permanent showrooms and 20 temporary exhibits.

According to judging panel, aesthetic and functional highlights of the Surya space include a €œwelcoming entrance that is bright, colorful and inviting.€€¨The showroom façade achieves a visual cohesiveness €“ accented by eye-catching, repetitive logo and tagline graphics surrounding the entire front façade of the space.

Originally located in a smaller space on a rug-geared floor, Surya€™s newly moved its showroom to the 11th floor, which features a broad mix of manufacturers. The showroom will be open daily, providing an opportunity for customers in the Southeast region to explore the brand€™s full line of products year round.

€œOn behalf of our team, I€™d like to thank the AmericasMart Atlanta judging committee for including our newly launched showroom in their Visual Display Award honors," said Satya Tiwari, Surya president.

"We find ourselves in wonderful company with the other recipients selected for this recognition. Our goal in showroom design is always to offer our retailers and designers the best venue to preview new trends in color and design, easily shop the full breadth of the Surya line and hopefully find creative inspiration for their own retail merchandising.€

Upholstered furniture vendor Norwalk Furniture has opened a 3,300-square-foot permanent showroom in the Las Vegas Design Center at World Market Center.

The new space, A225, which will be open for the upcoming Las Vegas Furniture Market and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. week days, projects an urban attitude and places a focus on the more than 850 fabrics and leathers that Norwalk offers as part of its highly customized upholstery.

€œLike High Point, our Las Vegas showroom will offer retailers fashion forward upholstery displays dressed in the most current fabric and color trends,€ said Reyna Moore, Norwalk Furniture vice president of marketing and merchandising. €œIt presents a consumer presentation to both inspire our dealers as well as to appeal to the clients of interior designers who visit the space on a year-round basis.€

The showroom is another step in Norwalk€™s expansion on the West Coast, following the hiring of Carrie Norris as vice president of business development in the spring of 2011.

€œOur double digit growth since 2009 is due to the strong partnerships with independent retailers who want an affordable custom upholstery source made in America, which can deliver a wide range of options in fabrics, trims and wood finishes in a timely fashion,€ she said. €œThis showroom is intentionally inspiring, colorful and touched with whimsy.€
