Each season, an interior designer will interpret Bernhardt’s design legacy through his or her own creative vision, which will then be brought to life in a prominent space in Bernhardt’s showroom. At the fall High Point Market, running Oct. 19-23, the first Designer in Residence will be Elle Decor A-List designer Nick Olsen (nickolsenstyle.com), known for his cutting-edge take on traditional design and his use of bold color.
“Great design is the lifeblood and heritage of our company and we have always had a very symbiotic relationship with talented interior designers. We wanted to create an ongoing event that would champion great design and recognize the art of creating beautiful interiors,” says Alex Bernhardt Jr., president and CEO of Bernhardt. “It’s our honor to create a venue for this extraordinary talent.”
Each season’s designer-in-residence will be able to explore their creativity in the Bernhardt showroom on the 6th floor of the IHFC building. The only guidelines for the designer are to showcase new ideas, color trends, and design directions that will elevate the design conversation.
“We are very excited to have Nick Olsen join us as our inaugural Designer in Residence,” says Gregory Heller, vice president of residential casegoods merchandising. “He’s an incredible talent and was a natural choice to show the breadth of what Bernhardt offers through his unique and gifted perspective, and to celebrate our appreciation for interior designers. I can’t wait to see Nick's vision come to life in our showroom this fall.”
“Designer in Residence is a multi-step concept that will continue beyond the High Point Market,” adds Heather Eidenmiller, director of brand development. “We’ll have exciting additions for this design collaboration to announce in the coming weeks.”
