The Furniture Mall of Kansas is set to open Saturday with its five retail businesses in one convenient shopping location.
The 193,000-square-foot mall will feature Discover Furniture, RoomMakers, Mattress Headquarters, Marlings Furniture and Abbey Flooring Headquarters. The mall, owned by Jeff Winter and the Winter family, which has been in the home furnishings business since 1933.

Shares of Williams-Sonoma Inc., the owner of its namesake, Pottery Barn and West Elm home-goods chains, fell the most in seven months after the company forecast annual profit that trailed analysts' estimates.
The shares slid 4.2 percent to $56.97 at Wednesday's close in New York, for the biggest decline since Jan. 17. Williams-Sonoma, based in San Francisco, has gained 30 percent this year, compared with a 15 percent increase for the Standard & Poor's 500 Index.

Two of the country's largest home-furnishings manufacturers, including Ashley Furniture Industries Inc., have been dealt a pivotal blow in a 10-year legal battle that once threatened to spark a civil war in the domestic industry.
The U.S. Appeals Court for the Federal Circuit ruled Aug. 19 in a 2-1 vote that Ashley and Ethan Allen Operations Inc. are not entitled to receive duty payments from a successful anti-dumping case against a group of Chinese wooden-bedroom furniture manufacturers.

Sweden-based home furnishing giant IKEA Group opened its first wholly owned manufacturing facility in China on Wednesday, through subsidiary IKEA Industry Group, in a bid to support its rapid expansion in Asia - especially China.
The factory, which will make wooden products, is in Nantong, Jiangsu province, a manufacturing hub for home furnishings and interior decoration material. The factory will supply IKEA stores, mainly in China.
