Canadian online furniture retailer Cymax has cut numerous jobs in recent months following an auditor’s report that questioned the company’s “ability to continue as a going concern,” Bloomberg News reported.
Aided by “robust” sales around major holidays, Havertys (HVT) said sales increased 0.8% to $211.7 million in the quarter ended Sept. 30.
Bassett Furniture Inds. (BSET) reported lower sales and earnings in the quarter ended Aug. 27 amid weak consumer demand and lower sales of its imported products.

The Board of Directors of Flexsteel (FLXS) has voted to increase the company’s quarterly cash dividend to 20 cents per share, payable Oct. 7 to shareholders of record Sept. 23.
