Kalaty Launches New Facebook Contest

Kalaty Rug Corp. has launched a new Facebook contest, “Throw the Decorator Under the Rug”.

The contest gives the Hicksville, N.Y.m company’s Facebook friends and fans an opportunity to win a rug for themselves and also for their favorite interior designer. The contest began Nov. 17 and ends at noon EST on Dec. 31. Winners will be announced on Jan. 8.

Consumers enter the contest by “liking” the contest through the portal on the Kalaty Facebook page where they “nominate” their favorite interior designer. The winning entrant and his/her decorator may choose a Kalaty rug up to an $875 retail value. 

Kalaty actively seeks to engage consumers, designers and others through its Facebook page by regularly sharing product news, color and design tips as well as bringing rug industry trends to the attention of its many friends and fans.

“We recognize the importance of engaging with designers and consumers in creative ways,” said company spokesman Kamran Kalaty. “Facebook has proven to be a great communications vehicle for us on many fronts and a great tool for conducting a contest.”

Active in many aspects of social media such as Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest, the company recently added a new blog to its website to round out a full complement of social media involvement.
