Home furnishings retailer Wayfair.com has partnered with office supply retailer Staples to offer an expanded selection of products, including furniture, décor and housewares.
The two retailers said they expect the product selection to expand into new categories, including outdoor furniture, exercise equipment and kitchenware, in the future.
"We're rapidly expanding the product assortment on Staples.com, making it easier for business to find everything they need in one place," said Faisal Masud, executive vice president, global e-commerce, Staples. "Wayfair.com's offering builds on our selection and brings completely new categories to our online shopping experience."
The more than 50,000 products will be available on Staples' Web site by early next year.
"We are thrilled to join forces with Staples on their new marketplace as they build an even more comprehensive offering to meet the evolving needs of their customers," said Brad Johnson, Wayfair vice president of partner sales and operations. "Drawing from a selection of seven million products from 12,000 brands across a vast spectrum of home furnishings, this marketplace partnership will bring an entirely new level of selection to Staples' business customers and offer Wayfair.com a new channel for reaching shoppers."
In addition to being the first partner in the Staples marketplace, Wayfair launched a partnership with Staples office products subsidiary Quill.com last summer.
