Kenneth Quiggins Sr., a veteran independent furniture sales representative who worked for Boyd Specialty Sleep has died Monday at 72.

Quiggins, who represented Boyd for more than 20 years, died at his home in Jeffersonville, Ind. Services were held Wednesday and Thursday at Louisville Memorial Gardens in Louisville, Ky., where he was born.

“Ken was with us going back to the waterbed days and he was always a gentleman with a great set of ethics,” said Denny Boyd, president of Boyd Specialty Sleep, St. Louis. “He was a true relationship salesman who connected easily with anyone. His customers were his friends and they treated him like family. He was a great friend to many of us and will be missed.  Our sales meetings will not be the same without Ken.”

A member of the Knights of Columbus and a Kentucky Colonel, Quiggins is survived by his wife of 29 years, Kathleen; his children Pamela Wooten, Beverly Parkerson, Denise Roby and Kenneth Quiggins Jr.; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and his brother, Thomas Quiggins.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that any donations be made to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, or to the Special Olympics.
