Jeff Murrow Dies at 47

Jeffrey Todd Murrow, 47, of High Point, died Tuesday after a seven-year battle with cancer.

He was vice president of furniture carrier Murrow's Transfer. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, at Green Street Baptist Church, 303 Rotary Dr., High Point. Dr. 

Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. Friday, at the church. Burial will follow the funeral at Floral Garden Park. 

Murrow was born in High Point on Sept. 18, 1966. He graduated from Ledford Senior High School in 1984 and continued his education at High Point College and University of North Carolina at Wilmington. While at Ledford, Jeff was a four-sport letterman and an all-conference performer in basketball and in football.

He was an avid golfer and enjoyed watching N.C. State athletics. He also was active in his Connection Class at Green Street Baptist Church and served as a basketball coach at High Point Christian Academy, where his children attend school.

Murrow is survived by his beloved wife of 22 years, Angela, and his three children: Dylan Murrow (15), Chloe Murrow (13), and Dalton Murrow (11). He also is survived by his grandmother, Dorothy Cook; his parents, Fred A. and Brenda Murrow; his sister, Kristie Murrow Green and husband Eddie Greene; and six nephews and one niece.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be given to the Jeff Murrow Memorial Athletic Complex and Facilities Fund.
