NFM Tops off Texas Furniture Store

Retailer Nebraska Furniture Mart of Texas has topped out its 1.86 million-square-foot facility in The Colony, Texas. The 1.3 million-square-foot distribution center and the 560,000-square-foot furniture showroom will become the largest home furnishings store in the U.S. upon completion in the spring of 2015.
Dallas-Fort Worth's largest retail development—Nebraska Furniture Mart of Texas—has topped out its 1.86 million-square-foot facility.
The milestone marks a significant opportunity for The Colony, said Mayor Joe McCourry, who played a part in giving the retailer incentives to build the self-anchored $1.5 billion, 433-acre mixed-use "Grandscape" development.
The 1.3 million-square-foot distribution center and the 560,000-square-foot retail showroom will become the largest home furnishings store in North America when it opens in spring 2015, company officials said.
