Chuck Rudwall, 55, Dies

Industry veteran Chuck Rudwall died suddenly Friday at his home in Chattanooga, Tenn.

Rudwall, 55, had recently been named president of DeLandis Furniture

Rudwall had been in the furniture industry for more than 35 years and had held a number of management positions and sales and marketing posts with companies like Luonto Furniture and Softline.

He is survived by his wife Connie Hanley Rudwall; their two children Jay and Maggie; three brothers; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the donations may be made to the Maggie C. Rudwall Education Account.

At DeLandis, Rudwall will be succeeded by Mike Zippelli, CEO of Classic Brands, a partner in the U.S. operations of DeLandis.

“Chuck’s death is not only a tremendous loss to our company but to the furniture industry as a whole," Zippelli said. "In the short period of time he was a part of our team, he made many important contributions to the business. We will miss him dearly. Our thoughts, condolences and prayers are with his wife, children and family."
