Stickley Plans $3.8M Expansion

L. & J.G. Stickley Inc. in Manlius is planning to invest $3.8 million in an expansion that would add 50 new jobs if the company secures funding from the state.

The Stickley furniture expansion is on the Central New York Regional Economic Development Council's priority list for projects the state should aid. If approved, Stickley would receive $764,000 from the state and pay for the rest itself.

In late September, the council recommended the state provide $32 million for nearly three dozen development projects it said could create 810 jobs and help retain 378 existing ones.

Stickley is one of those, and Aminy I. Audi, chief executive officer and board chair of the Manlius-based company. Audi said Stickley needs the funding to move forward with its expansion plans.
