Somerton Dwelling Has High Point Showroom

At Fall Market, the new 17,000-square-foot showroom, on the 11th floor of the International Home Furnishing Center's Commerce wing, space 1156, is positioning Somerton's new brand for national and international retailers who want to reach the young, fun and hip consumer.

Post, a long-time retail specialist in the home furnishings industry, is responsible for the look of more than 18 million square feet of retail and wholesale space around the globe.

“Armed with a clear directive from CEO, Rita Ho-Bezzola  that she wants each vignette to feel like people actually live there, and a clever in depth narrative for each personality, I’m embracing this younger consumer’s lifestyle with touch points that say we relate,” Post said.

Corona, Calif.-based Somerton Dwelling’s goal is to be a source for the independent retailer to create a destination to compete with the major home-centric chains.

“Working on this project with an almost all female team, lets me push the boundaries in product presentation and actually show how to appeal to this younger consumer," Post said. The home furnishing industry agrees that the big majority of decision makers for buying furniture are women and women know how to talk to women.”

The new High Point showroom will feature an environmentally conscious presentation that will incorporate recycled and all natural fabrics on the upholstery to compliment Somerton Dwellings wood products now using all water based finishes.

“Going forward where there’s an opportunity to practically do what is environmental friendly we will embrace whole heartily,” said Ho-Bezzola, CEO of Somerton Dwelling. “Connie has created an exciting entrance to our showroom with a curvilinear design that naturally welcomes you to our eco-positioned brand”.

Somerton Dwelling’s return to High Point is marked by the 30-year anniversary of this family business and lead by second-generation Rita Ho-Bezzola.

Somerton Dwelling is the US Sales & Marketing arm of Kingstone Furniture. Kingstone is located in Dongguan City in southern China. Originally established in Taiwan in 1983, Kingstone made its initial investment in China in 1992. 

In addition to its corporate office and distribution center in Corona, Calif., Somerton Dwelling has an additional East Coast warehouse facility located in Stoneville N.C.
