BrandSource Seeks More Appeal to Younger Shoppers

BrandsourceRetail merchandising group BrandSource is expanding its home furnishings assortment to appeal to younger, first-time home buyers.

From repurposed furniture taken from unique pieces around the globe to traditional and eclectic items, the enhanced offering is designed to drive foot traffic, increase sales and boost the visual impact of member stores.

BrandSource has partnered with three new suppliers on the expansion: case goods vendors Classic Home Furnishings and Legends Furniture; and rug, bedding and wood furniture source Rizzy Home.

In addition to sofas, chairs and tables, new collections include a variety of affordable area rugs, bed linens, decorative pillows and home accents. The new line-up is comprises pieces that will fit a variety of styles and budgets.

“In many areas of the country, the housing market is on fire and people that were underwater two years ago now have equity back, home prices are going up, and they’re feeling more confident,” said Mike Allen , vice president of BrandSource home furnishings. “Younger people are buying first-time homes again. This is great for our members. Nothing spurs furniture sales more than a new home, and we want young consumers to know and love BrandSource as much as the loyal ‘regulars’ who have been shopping in our stores for years.”

In addition to enhanced store displays, the free BrandSource mobile app will showcase the new home furnishings, allowing shoppers to plan ahead and/or search any time and filter by price, manufacturer, color, depth, width and height. Information and photos can be shared with friends and family via e-mail, Twitter or Facebook as they furnish their homes.
