IPE Announces New Application to Monitor Production Process

IPE, a leader in software solutions for furniture and other labor-intensive manufacturers, announced IP-Repair™, announces a new application that provides real-time visibility into products requiring repair during the production process. By giving management immediate access to repair status and activity, IP-Repair helps manufacturers identify bottlenecks, make faster decisions, and manage the impact of repairs on production flow, cost of poor quality (COPQ) and customer delivery commitments.
In many furniture manufacturing operations, staff move products needing repair to designated repair areas and track their status manually. Without timely, consolidated information, production managers struggle to assess repair workloads, set priorities, and understand how repair activity affects production flow, cost, and delivery schedules. Meanwhile, products awaiting repair represent work-in-process inventory that cannot move forward until the necessary work is completed.
IP-Repair addresses this visibility gap by providing real-time dashboards and repair-activity reporting. Management can access current information without relying solely on manual tracking or making repeated visits to the repair department, helping them make more informed decisions about priorities and production performance.
“In-process repair activity can have a significant impact on production flow, cost, and delivery performance, yet manufacturers have limited visibility into what’s happening in their repair departments,” said Brad Mikes, Founder and Managing Partner of IPE. “Working closely with Century Furniture, we developed IP-Repair to give management timely information about repair activity so they can better understand the workload, make informed decisions, and manage the impact on production.”
IP-Repair is now available as an integrated component of IPE’s optional IP-Quality™ module for the IP-Realtime™ Shop Floor Control platform for furniture manufacturers.
