Universal Furniture leans into sophistication during Fall Market with the introduction of new collections including Emerie, a furniture collection that feels both rich and refined, Cassia, a collection influenced by postmodernism and pop art, and Weekend Getaway, the capsule collection collaboration with Costal Living.
Emerie Collection
Inspired by the well-traveled collector with artistic tendencies, Emerie pairs softly curved silhouettes with architectural forms.
Combing through the Emerie collection is akin to a worldly adventure–intriguing, mysterious and elegant. Emerie is grounded in a richly toned dark warm oak with subtle wire-brushed grain that accentuates the wood’s natural character. Dark Brown Emperador stone brings organic movement and quiet drama, while Dusty Bronze metal adds the warmth of a softly aged patina. Shagreen textures and tactile upholstery in neutral fabrics, including Illaria Sand, Opal Sand and James Birch, complete the layered material palette.
Designed around the idea of collected minimalism, Emerie balances expressive materials and artful details with clean, livable forms. The collection includes pieces for the bedroom, dining room, work and living space, each distinguished by thoughtful craftsmanship and details that invite a closer look.
“Emerie is designed for interiors that feel curated rather than decorated,” said Sean O’Connor, president of Universal Furniture. “Its combination of warm wood, expressive stone, softly patinated metal and tactile materials gives every piece a sense of depth and individuality, while the clean silhouettes make the collection easy to live with.”
Throughout the collection, distinctive forms, layered materials and thoughtful details give individual pieces their own sense of character while continuing Emerie’s cohesive, collected aesthetic. Highlights include the Emerie panel bed, six-drawer chest, bronze mirror, round dining table, opal ottoman, and game table.
Cassia Collection
Cassia, an expansive whole-home collection inspired by the artful mix of furnishings and objects gathered over time.
As one of the company’s largest introductions of the season, Cassia spans bedroom, kitchen, dining, living and work spaces. Influenced by postmodernism and pop art, Cassia pairs clean silhouettes with playful geometry, saturated color and unexpected contrasts.
The collection reflects the sensibility of a creative collector, bringing together furniture, art, and personal objects in spaces that feel curated yet not overly composed. The majority of designs in Cassia are crafted in white oak, finished in a softly wire-brushed medium tone that provides a warm foundation, complemented by Dusty Bronze accents and a varied selection of richly patterned stones. An off-white alternate finish, called Flax, presents a contrast seen in game tables and small case pieces. Tailored upholstery in neutral fabrics and leather rounds out the collection, balancing its more expressive elements with comfort and versatility.
“Cassia is one of our most expansive introductions, but it still feels personal,” said Sean O’Connor, president of Universal Furniture. “There is a sense of creativity and confidence throughout the collection, with pieces that can stand on their own while giving designers and homeowners the freedom to create spaces that feel distinctly their own.”
Throughout Cassia, expressive materials and unexpected details bring character to clean, modern forms. Highlights from the collection include an upholstered bed, a storage cocktail table, nesting tables, a dusty bronze dining table, and a flax nightstand.
Weekend Getaway Capsule Collection
Universal Furniture and Costal Living have collaborated for years, beginning in 2018.“Weekend Getaway captures the easy, collected quality that has made our partnership with Coastal Living so successful,” said Sean O’Connor, president of Universal Furniture. “It introduces fresh color and character while working naturally with the collections our customers already know and love.”
Blending the ease of European seaside living with classic American coastal style, Weekend Getaway pairs relaxed forms and woven details with light oak and softly painted finishes. White Quartz, Brushed Champagne metal and performance upholstery complete the collection’s casual, livable palette.
Color plays a central role, with select pieces offered in Marina, a deep blue; Cabana, a warm off-white; Cove, a soft blue; and Cypress, a sage green. The campaign chest is also available in four coordinating linen finishes created using the traditional gesso technique, giving the surface a subtle linen-like texture and depth.
Designed to mix easily with previous Coastal Living collections, Weekend Getaway offers a spirited update to a familiar coastal aesthetic, with pieces suited to a range of interiors.
Highlights of the capsule collection include the campaign chest, dining chairs, sugar sand nightstand, counter stool, and bluff dresser.
