Woodard, the 160 year-old American outdoor furniture brand renowned for its enduring designs and quality craftsmanship, announces the appointment of Matt Langford as Vice President of Sales. Langford will succeed industry veteran Perry Solomon, who has served as Woodard’s Senior Vice President of Residential Sales for 14 years and has played an instrumental role in strengthening the company’s relationships with retailers and trade professionals while expanding its presence in the marketplace.
Langford brings more than 20 years of senior-level leadership experience across the home furnishings and retail industries, with expertise spanning sales strategy, business development, retail expansion, product development, procurement, operations and A&D relationships. In his new role, he will lead Woodard’s sales strategy and continue to strengthen relationships with its network of retailers, designers and industry partners nationwide.
“Woodard has something that is increasingly rare in our industry - a genuine heritage of American craftsmanship combined with a product portfolio that continues to evolve,” said Matt Langford, Vice President of Sales, Woodard. “I’m excited to build on that foundation, strengthen our relationships across the retail and design communities, and expand the reach of the brand through trade professionals, trade showrooms, dealer and rep networks. There is tremendous opportunity ahead for Woodard, and I’m looking forward to being part of its next chapter.”
“Matt brings an exceptional combination of sales leadership, operational expertise and a deep understanding of the home furnishings industry. His track record of building relationships, identifying opportunities for growth and leading high-performing teams makes him an ideal fi t for Woodard as they enter this next chapter,” said Perry Solomon.
Most recently, Langford served as Head of Operations for Rebecca Atwood, the Charleston-based home textiles and wallpaper studio, where he oversaw daily business operations and worked across procurement, product development, inventory, vendor management, production and fulfillment. He also developed growth strategies and operational initiatives designed to increase efficiency and support long-term business growth.
His career also includes serving as North America Sales Director for YERRA Rugs | MIKSI Rugs, where he developed wholesale and direct sales channels and expanded relationships with designers, retailers and the A&D community across North America.
Langford previously served as Vice President of Stores at Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams, where he was responsible for the company’s national retail showroom business and expansion strategy. During his tenure, he oversaw the opening of 25 retail stores over 13 years and helped grow the retail division to more than $100 million in annual sales. He also led a team of 225 employees and oversaw the retail marketing/media budget.
Earlier in his career, Langford served as Vice President of Homenature, where he managed business operations across the company’s retail channels, generating more than $15 million in sales while increasing profitability across key product categories.
Langford joins Woodard at an exciting time for the 160-year-old brand. Founded in 1866 in Owosso, Michigan, Woodard continues to combine its rich history of American craftsmanship with evolving design, materials and finishes. This month, the company returns to High Point Market in a showroom space within the prestigious 313 Space as part of an effort to expand its reach within the design community and broaden its presence in new markets.
Woodard’s portfolio spans classic, contemporary and transitional outdoor furnishings, with products designed and crafted with an emphasis on quality, customization and enduring style. The company maintains a manufacturing facility in Owosso, Michigan, and a national network of sales representatives serving residential and hospitality markets.
As Woodard looks toward its next chapter, Langford’s appointment reinforces the company’s commitment to building on its legacy while expanding its relationships with today’s designers, retailers and customers.
