Kincaid Upholstery will celebrate its first Fall High Point Market in its new 12,000-square-foot showroom at 311 N. Hamilton Street with four days of hospitality and a weekend of special events, beginning with a Friday evening ribbon cutting, celebrated alongside building neighbors Valdese Weavers and The MT Company, and continuing with interactive programs presented with Crypton and Sunbrella.
The Market weekend marks a milestone for Kincaid, which moved this year to the prominent Hamilton Street location in the heart of the design district. The new showroom gives the North Carolina upholstery maker a year-round setting for its bench-made craftsmanship, fresh color stories, updated traditional and transitional styling and expanding assortment, while creating a welcoming home base for the retailers and designers who work with the brand.
“For the first time in a long time, we have a space that lets us show the full picture of who Kincaid is today,” said Max Dyer, CEO of Kincaid Upholstery. “There is a confidence and an energy in the company right now, and this showroom gives that a physical expression. From the furniture and fabrics to the way we welcome customers, it feels unmistakably like us. We are proud of where Kincaid has evolved and genuinely excited for people to walk in and experience it for themselves.”
The celebration begins Oct 16, when Kincaid Upholstery, Valdese Weavers and The MT Company welcome Market guests to a First Look at 311 kickoff to celebrate their shared Hamilton Street home, beginning at 4:00 p.m. The Valdese beverage cart will welcome guests visiting all three showrooms from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. The official Kincaid Upholstery ribbon cutting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m., followed by live music, hors d'oeuvres and cocktails in the Kincaid showroom, giving customers an opportunity to explore the new space, reconnect with the Kincaid team and raise a glass to the company’s newest chapter.
On Oct 17, from 3–5 p.m., Kincaid will turn the focus to fabric, craft and creativity in a special activation with Crypton. Guests can see chain-stitch work using Crypton fabrics and experience an engaging, hands-on expression of the performance textiles featured in Kincaid upholstery. Crypton will also hold a special giveaway during the afternoon. Beverages and light bites will be served.
Oct 18, 4-6 p.m., brings Sunbrella into the showroom for the Sunbrella Soiree, a practical demonstration devoted to one of the questions customers ask most often: how to keep performance fabrics looking their best. The Sunbrella team will demonstrate cleaning techniques and fabric care, pairing useful, real-world information along with a giveaway of a luxe Sunbrella throw to one lucky attendee. Beverages and light bites will be served.
Throughout Market, Kincaid will extend the hospitality beyond its scheduled events. Lunch will be served for customers Friday through Monday, offering an easy opportunity to spend time with the Kincaid team while exploring the showroom, new introductions and the craftsmanship behind the line.
“Our goal is to make this showroom an essential destination for customers who value style, service and uncompromising construction,” said Cole Mehlman, chief commercial officer. “Kincaid is built to be nimble and responsive, and this new space gives us a stronger platform for listening to our partners, supporting their businesses and presenting bench-made upholstery in a way that feels current, relevant and unmistakably Kincaid.”
Kincaid Upholstery returned to family ownership under KMC Furniture LLC earlier this year and continues to manufacture in Taylorsville, N.C., where more than 100 associates carry forward the company’s heritage of domestic, artisan upholstery production. The new High Point showroom brings that manufacturing story, the company’s renewed energy and its emphasis on long-term customer relationships together under one roof.
