Industry Veteran Pamela Newman Goins Passes Away at 81

Goins worked with VCHFRA from its offices in the International Home Furnishings Center, where she became a familiar presence to generations of sales representatives and others in the home furnishings industry.

Born Jan. 26, 1945, in Davidson County, N.C., Goins was the daughter of the late John Fitzgerald and Gladys Fraylick Moore. A lifelong resident of the area, she graduated from Thomasville High School.

Outside of work, Goins enjoyed traveling and was an enthusiastic supporter of the sports and activities involving her children. She was a member of Infusion Church in Archdale, N.C.

She married Darrell Goins in 1961. He preceded her in death in 2018. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Christopher Goins in 1991 and Richard Goins in 2023.

Survivors include her son, Robert Goins; granddaughters Emma Jane Goins and Rachelle Briggs and her husband, Jared; great-grandson Beckam Longest; and a number of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Goins’ life will be held Sept. 10 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale, with Pastor Otis Collins officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. prior to the service.
