Liberty Furniture, a leading whole-home resource for value-driven, quality furniture, has created a new sales leadership position to better serve its retailers, tapping company veteran Maggie Henning to be its new director of sales. Henning, formerly director of e-commerce and marketing, will lead the company’s internal e-commerce and brick-and-mortar sales teams.
“Maggie brings a unique perspective and energy that challenges and motivates her team. She’s a creative thinker with strong business instincts, and I’m excited to see the impact she’ll have in this role,” said Jonathan Cowles, president of Liberty Furniture. “She’s demonstrated that through her e-commerce and marketing teams, where her approach has helped drive growth, generate revenue and create value for our customers. This promotion is a natural next step for Maggie, leveraging her leadership and perspective to a broader area of the business as she focuses on bringing greater alignment to our sales strategy and driving meaningful growth”
Henning brings more than 15 years of experience in sales, e-commerce, marketing, merchandising and account management to her new role. She was recently named to Furniture Today’s 2026 40 Under 40 class and was also selected to participate in the Home Furnishings Leadership Institute, an intensive, multi-day executive education program designed for emerging leaders in the furniture and home furnishings industry created by the American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame Foundation in partnership with High Point University.
Before joining Liberty Furniture in 2023, Henning spent much of her career on the eCommerce side of the furniture industry. She began as a Sales Manager at Boraam Industries before joining TANA Sales & Marketing, an Amazon-focused sales agency, as an Account Manager.
She later served as an eCommerce Sales Representative for United Furniture Industries before shifting her focus to helping a regional furniture retailer define and execute an online strategy tailored to their brand, customers, and business goals.
“This is an exciting time to step into this role, Liberty has the strongest whole-home assortment of quality, on-trend furniture at a value in the market,” Henning said. “My experience across sales, e-commerce and marketing has given me a broad perspective on our business, our customers and the opportunities ahead. I’m looking forward to leading our sales team with a strategic focus on driving growth, strengthening partnerships and attacking new avenues to expand our business. I’m grateful to be part of an organization that continues to invest in my professional growth and gives me the ability to take on new challenges. We have an incredibly talented team with tremendous momentum and even more to look forward to. I’m excited for what’s yet to come.”
The appointment comes as Liberty prepares for the upcoming High Point Market. Henning and her team will be on-site in Liberty’s showroom at Centers for High Point at 401 Manning Street to collaborate with retail partners, customers and designers while supporting key initiatives and product introductions for the brand.
