Luxury wallcovering company Phillip Jeffries has announced plans for a showroom in the Charleston Design District at the historic Navy Yard Charleston. The 1,458-square-foot space, set to open in September, will mark the company’s first location in the Lowcountry region and will offer an immersive destination for designers to explore wallcovering collections and collaborate with industry professionals in person.
Phillip Jeffries is a family-run company dedicated to crafting the world’s chicest wallcovering. Headquartered in New Jersey, the global design leader will grow with this addition to 14 showrooms worldwide. The company, founded in 1976 with just 10 grasscloths, now offers more than 2,000 designs with the ability for clients to customize both the ground and color.
"We are excited to bring the Phillip Jeffries brand to the coastal Carolinas region,” said Philip Bershad, co-CEO, Phillip Jeffries. “Charleston Design District’s vibrant community was a natural fit for our newest showroom, and we cannot wait to build on the creative, passionate environment that continues to grow in North Charleston.”
The showroom will be located in Suite 121 within Storehouse 8 in the Charleston Design District. The design scheme will be customized for the Lowcountry, with floral prints and embroidered designs complementing Phillip Jeffries’ signature natural textures. Designers will be able to experience the look and feel of the wallcovering through 15 dramatic installations and more than 500 display wings. The space also will feature a designer work area. Interior designer Edie Biebuyck has joined the company as studio lead for the showroom.
“Phillip Jeffries is the ideal addition to Charleston Design District, building on the positive momentum that continues to position the community as the top design hub in the Lowcountry,” said Michael Phillips, President of Jamestown. “The company’s reputation for excellence, innovation and sustainability aligns perfectly with our vision for this project, and we are thrilled to welcome them to our growing lineup of tastemakers and artists.”
