Kingsdown is enhancing its proprietary bedMATCH™ system to make it even more impactful in the mattress sales process in today’s retail environments. The new streamlined design features a motion base, tablet control and advanced business intelligence.
According to Frank Hood, chief executive officer of Kingsdown, the new enhancements were inspired by feedback from retailers across the country.
“Surpassing more than 25 million consumer profiles globally, bedMATCH is already regarded as the most comprehensive data-driven diagnostic system available,” Hood said, “and we continually seek to make it nothing less than an essential tool on retail floors. In developing this new, improved rendition, we did a lot of listening with dealers big and small.”
The result is a trimmer structure that is eight feet in height, allowing for seamless installation on store floors with nine-foot ceilings or greater. Along with re-sizing the overall presentation to ensure it fits nicely into more retail locations; the structure’s Silicone Edge Graphic (SEG) walls can easily be changed to reflect the dealer’s brand identity and/or messaging as often as they wish using the bedMATCH Concierge unit. Retailers can even preview the new look and see it in their retail environment by using the augmented reality (AR) button on their phone and projecting the image into their space.
The new bedMATCH presentation now offers a more informed consumer purchase package by incorporating motion-base technology.
“During a profile experience, the bed will move into a zero-gravity position,” William Hayes, vice president, software development at Kingsdown said. “This allows consumers to automatically feel the difference in comfort level that an adjustable base experience can provide, and it enables the RSA to smoothly begin a conversation that will lead to an upgraded mattress purchase.”
Another key innovation designed to facilitate a welcoming sales experience is the move to a tablet interface. Data can be entered conveniently before consumers even approach the bedMATCH system or lie down for the profile that will recommend their ideal mattress based on their body type and sleeping position. Additionally, the system enables RSAs to recall profiles from different days, so if a shopper returns to the store later with or without a partner, the RSA can instantly re-establish rapport.
Retailers will also have access to aggregated results, allowing them to scientifically merchandise their stores more efficiently based on the bedMATCH data. This includes reports that show how a particular store ranks among other stores in the same retail chain, along with the results of individual salespeople—giving store managers a better sense of activity from day to day.
Installed in more than 2,000 retail locations around the globe, the patented brand agnostic system is currently used by more than 4,100 retail sales associates worldwide to help consumers match their sleep habits, health and body profiles to the best mattress available in a store, whether or not the mattress is Kingsdown.
