MillerKnoll, a global design company, announced that Vice President of Sustainability Gabe Wing has been named a winner in the 2026 Business Intelligence Group Sustainability Awards. Recognized in the Sustainability Hero category, the accolade reflects Wing’s contributions in advancing the company’s sustainability objectives over the past year.
Wing was recognized for his leadership in bringing sustainable advancements to the Herman Miller Aeron Chair, announced in June 2026. Throughout his two-decade long MillerKnoll career, Wing has helped guide the evolution of Aeron, playing a pivotal role in supporting research, embedding sustainability into design and manufacturing processes, and coordinating across global teams to implement advancements. In recent years, Wing has championed material innovation in Aeron, including the use of ocean bound plastic and other recycled materials, as well as a more efficient base design, reducing Aeron’s global embodied carbon footprint by 12%1.
“The best sustainability solutions don't ask people to compromise. They make great products even better,” commented Gabe Wing. “I'm proud of the work our teams have done, and the Aeron advancements show what's possible when talented people across the company come together around a shared goal.”
This honor joins recent sustainability and corporate excellence recognitions from TIME, Fortune, Newsweek, EcoVadis, and USA Today, underscoring MillerKnoll’s commitment to advancing sustainability.
To support a more sustainable future, the company is pursuing efforts to reduce operational emissions, increase transparency through environmental reporting, and innovate with product design and material development. MillerKnoll has achieved 100 percent renewable electricity sourcing across its global manufacturing operations via a combination of on-site generation and renewable energy certificates.
The Business Intelligence Group Sustainability Awards honor a broad range of industries and use cases, spotlighting the companies, leaders, and products turning sustainability commitments into measurable results. This year's winners span nine categories and seven countries.
