Hue & Dot by Mirth Studio, a decorative flooring brand, will open its first showroom in the Charleston Design District at the historic Navy Yard Charleston later this summer. The showroom will offer bold flooring patterns, custom decorative embellishments, and one-of-a-kind interior design solutions for designers and clients.
Mirth Studio was founded in 2014 by Sally Bennett, a decorative artist who previously spent her career designing murals, hand-painted floors, and faux-finishes for high-profile commercial spaces and nightclubs in New York City. After moving to Charleston, she began Mirth Studio to offer clients her custom motifs through easy-to-use hardwood floor tiles that make installation more convenient and accessible.
Hue & Dot soon followed as the sister brand and couture counterpart to Mirth Studio, focused on customization, artistry, and collaboration. The concept combines bespoke craftmanship with a streamlined specification process, offering custom hardwood flooring, made-to-order wool Kilim rugs and stair runners, and hand-painted architectural embellishments for walls, ceilings, beams, and more.
“The Charleston Design District felt like the perfect home for our new showroom,” said Sally Bennett, Owner and Creator of Mirth Studio. “The community here celebrates artistry and innovation in a way that aligns beautifully with our goals. We’re excited to create an immersive space for designers and homeowners to explore customization opportunities and collaborate with our team to bring their visions to life.”
Hue & Dot’s showroom will be located in a 1,400-square-foot space in Storehouse 8 within the Charleston Design District, creating an immersive environment for designers and clients to experience Bennett’s artistry, storytelling, and bold design in person. The space will feature new designer collaborations and product lines from both Mirth Studio and Hue & Dot.
“We are pleased to welcome Hue & Dot to the Charleston Design District,” said Michael Phillips, President of Jamestown. “Sally’s passion for craftmanship and entrepreneurial spirit perfectly embodies the character of this community, and her bold designs bring a new dimension to the offerings at the property. This showroom further strengthens Charleston Design District’s position as Charleston’s premier interior design destination.”
