Decorating Den Interiors Announces New VP of Merchandising

Decorating Den Interiors announced the appointment of veteran award-winning interior designer Lisa Deluca-DeLorenzo as vice president of merchandising replacing David Haseley, who is retiring after many years of service to the company.

“Lisa is well-respected throughout our company and brings experience and leadership needed to replace David,” says James S. Bugg, CEO and president of the Easton, Md.-based company. “Before joining Decorating Den Interiors, Lisa built a successful career as a textile and fashion buyer, working closely with international suppliers. Since becoming part of our organization, she has operated a high-performing design business, recruited and onboarded new franchise owners, and served in both regional and divisional leadership roles. Lisa and David have worked together for many years, which will ensure a seamless transition.”

“This is a wonderful opportunity to write a new chapter in my Decorating Den Interiors story,” Deluca-DeLorenzo says. “Throughout my career, I have developed strong relationships with our network of fine furnishings and home décor suppliers and have enjoyed leading educational initiatives that help our business owners effectively present these products and resources to their clients.”

DeLuca-DeLorenzo’s connection to Decorating Den Interiors began in 1984 when her parents opened a franchise in Morris Plains, N.J. She joined the family business to help fulfill their master license responsibilities and support the development of new franchises throughout New Jersey. In 1994, she assumed leadership of the business and has since consistently ranked among the company’s top-producing regions.

Another Merchandising Appointment

The company also announced that Wendy Schied is retiring as merchandising department assistant after 21 years with DDI. “She was our first hire when we moved our headquarters to Easton and has been an extremely valuable member of our team,” says Bugg, Jr. “We will greatly miss Wendy. She played a valuable role as in intermediary between our 200-plus interior designers and our more than 130 approved suppliers.”

“Our suppliers are wonderful to work with. They give our designers a tremendous advantage in their businesses,” Schied says.  “I have truly enjoyed my job.”

Schied is being replaced by Emily Bloodsworth who joined the company as an accounting assistant in 2023. “Emily already is familiar with our suppliers since she has been coordinating our proprietary Winners Circle supplier incentive program that provides financial rewards to our designers based their wholesale purchases from each of our suppliers.”
