Symphony Sleep Introduces Adjustable Bases Backed by Science

Symphony Sleep® is continuing its investment in science-based retail education, providing furniture and mattress retailers with evidence-based resources designed to help sales associates communicate the health and wellness benefits of adjustable bases.

The initiative includes educational materials that are being developed with input from the International Chiropractors Association (ICA) whose specialists in spinal biomechanics, clinical neuroscience, and functional medicine have delivered hundreds of health presentations to organizations ranging from Fortune 500 companies to the U.S. Air Force. Symphony Sleep will collaborate with the ICA to translate clinical concepts into practical selling tools for the retail floor.

According to Symphony Sleep, many consumers are increasingly interested in sleep health but remain unaware of how adjustable bases can support issues such as back discomfort, circulation, snoring, acid reflux and overall sleep quality.

"Retailers who understand the 'why' behind adjustable sleep positions are not just selling a product—they're solving a problem," said John Schulte, Symphony Sleep president. "That shift from transaction to consultation is exactly what builds the kind of trust that brings customers back."

As part of the program, Symphony Sleep provides science-based educational resources covering key health benefits associated with adjustable sleep positions, including:

- Zero-gravity positioning can reduce pressure on the spine and help relieve stress on the lower back.

- Elevating the legs promotes circulation and may help reduce fluid buildup in the lower extremities.

- Head-of-bed elevation is widely recommended as a lifestyle intervention for acid reflux and GERD management.

- Inclined sleep positions can help open the airway and support consumers affected by snoring and mild sleep-disordered breathing.

- Reduced pressure points and optimized sleep positioning may contribute to deeper, more restorative sleep.

Symphony Sleep says the program will be designed around helping RSAs move to consultative selling with more meaningful conversations with shoppers seeking solutions to sleep-related concerns.

"Consumers are increasingly shopping for sleep products through a health and wellness lens," said Schulte. "By providing retailers with science-backed educational tools, we're helping them build confidence on the sales floor, create stronger customer engagement and ultimately grow the adjustable base category."

Retail partners will be able to access educational materials, selling tools and training resources through Symphony Sleep's RSA online platform.
