IKEA U.S. is pleased to announce plans to open a new store in Buffalo, New York, in early 2027. The location will mark the fourth IKEA store in the state, expanding access to affordable, well-designed home furnishings for customers across Western New York. Located at Walden Galleria Mall, 1 Walden Galleria, Buffalo, NY 14225, IKEA Buffalo will bring the IKEA experience closer to the many people in the region.
“At IKEA, we believe a better everyday life starts at home, and we’re committed to making the IKEA experience simple and convenient,” said Rob Olson, interim CEO at IKEA U.S. “Opening in Buffalo allows us to reach more customers and provide greater access to affordable, well-designed home furnishings.
”The new store will span approximately 65,000 square feet, offering an inspiring and convenient retail format designed to meet the needs of the Buffalo community. Customers will be able to explore a wide range of fully furnished room settings that showcase smart, stylish, and sustainable solutions for everyday living at home. The store will feature more than 5,200 products on display, with a curated selection of approximately 3,250 items available for immediate takeaway, including home furnishing accessories such as textiles, lighting, and décor, as well as more than 250 furniture items.
For larger pieces such as sofas and beds, customers can conveniently place orders either in-store or online, with options for low-cost home delivery or free store pickup for IKEA Family members.
In addition to shopping, the store will include a dedicated planning area, where customers can meet one-on-one with IKEA experts to receive personalized design consultations. Services will cover kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms, small-space living solutions, and more—helping customers bring their ideas to life.
As part of IKEA’s commitment to sustainability, IKEA Buffalo will feature an As-is section, offering gently used, discontinued, and returned products at discounted prices, helping give items a second life while supporting more sustainable consumption.
Customers will also be able to enjoy the Swedish Deli, which will offer a variety of IKEA food favorites, including meatballs, plant balls, falafel balls, hot dogs, veggie dogs, cinnamon buns, and more—available to enjoy in-store or take home.
Until the new store officially opens, customers in the Buffalo area can continue to shop IKEA online and pick up their orders at the existing IKEA Pick-up location on Walden Avenue in Cheektowaga.
