Burke Furniture Going Out of Business After 63 Years

After 63 years, high-end furniture retailer Burke Furniture & Fine Rugs announced it is going out of business. The building has been sold, and the company will begin liquidation this week.

Leading furniture promotional sales specialists Planned Furniture Promotions (PFP) will handle the final sale event for Burke Furniture & Fine Rugs.

“It is an honor to help facilitate this transition and final sale for such a well-respected company with a longstanding reputation for quality and service,” said Tom Liddell, senior vice president of PFP.

Family-owned Burke Furniture & Fine Rugs first opened its doors in 1963 at the same location it occupies today. From humble beginnings in a 2,000-square-foot showroom, the family business expanded with its six decades of success into its current two-story building with 70,000-square-feet of showroom and warehouse space.
