Yabu Pushelburg Introduces Timothy Collection with Stellar Works

A study in reduction, Stellar Works and Yabu Pushelberg present the Timothy Dining Armchair and Table. Inspired by the archetype of the classic wingback chair, the collection strips the form back to its essential framework, allowing structure and joinery to take the place of traditional upholstery and ornamentation.

The Timothy Dining Armchair takes its name from the distinctive T-shaped joint where the back leg meets the arm, a visible connection that becomes a defining feature of the design. A solid wood frame outlines the upholstered seat and split backrest, exposing the chair’s construction. As the armrests meet the back, the wood draws the upholstery inward, creating a subtle tension that gives the chair its tailored profile.

George Yabu, co-founder of Yabu Pushelberg, comments on the new collection saying, “With Timothy, we were inspired by the archetype of a classic wingback chair, but we wanted to strip it back. By removing the weight and the bulk, what remains is the structure – a subtle sense of enclosure. We wanted to evoke the feeling of being held without being confined; it feels familiar, yet lighter and more attuned to the way we live now.”

The Timothy Dining Table extends the collection’s design language through a similarly expressive wooden structure. Echoing the profile of the chair, the table’s rounded legs sweep outward before meeting a thin tabletop. Curved legs and angular supports convene beneath the surface, articulating the collection’s T-shaped geometry. The Timothy Dining Table is available in two sizes – 2100mm and 2400mm – in a range of oak and walnut finishes.

Glenn Pushelberg, co-founder of Yabu Pushelberg, adds, ‘Our long-standing relationship

with Stellar Works is built on a level of trust that fundamentally changes our process. Timothy didn't start from scratch; it is the result of a years-long dialogue about proportion, craft and identifying what was missing in the market. That deep familiarity is exactly what makes the final piece feel so considered.’

With Timothy, Stellar Works and Yabu Pushelberg reimagine classic design through a lens of reduction and refinement, creating pieces that feel recognizable yet distinctly contemporary.

Balancing architectural structure with soft fabrication, the collection conveys a quiet confidence, shaped by craftsmanship and material honesty, taking a deeply considered approach to how furniture is experienced and lived with over time.
