IKEA Home Services App Expands in Spain

Finding someone trustworthy to fix a leaky tap or rewire a room shouldn’t be stressful. The IKEA Home Services app has been doing exactly that in Spain since September 2024 – connecting people with verified local professionals across more than 50 services, with over 500,000 downloads and 21,000 service requests to date. Now it’s expanded to five new regions.

The IKEA Home Services app (available on iOS and Android) makes it simple to find reliable, verified help for home maintenance and improvements. Through the app, customers can browse services, submit a request, get matched with professionals, compare quotes, read reviews and book and pay securely.

An optional AI assistant helps by asking simple questions to understand what’s needed, then matches customers with the right professionals. It also gives a clear idea of likely costs, and answers questions too. It extends what IKEA already offers, going beyond furniture to support the everyday realities of maintaining a home.

IKEA Home Services is part of a broader ambition. Through its New Business Platform, Ingka Group, the largest IKEA retailer, is evolving beyond home furnishing retail to become a trusted partner in everyday life at home — bringing together a growing range of services, solutions, and experiences all designed to help people care for, improve, and enjoy their homes.

"Improving your home goes beyond buying furniture. It's about the ongoing reality of maintaining and adapting your space. The IKEA Home Services app connects our customers with verified professionals they can trust, with transparent pricing and quality service. The response in Spain has been overwhelmingly positive,” says Moritz Pulss, New Business Platform Category Manager, Ingka Group.

Growing in Spain
Madrid has become something of a testing ground for new ways IKEA is supporting life at home. The city was also where IKEA first tested its second-hand marketplace – which enables customers to buy and sell second-hand IKEA products. The marketplace is now live in six European markets.

The IKEA Home Services app launched in Madrid in September 2024, then expanded to Barcelona a year later, and rolled out to five more regions (Malaga, Alicante, Valencia, Almeria, and Murcia) last month (May 2026).

In March 2026, renovation services – including kitchen and bathroom renovation – were added. The response has been immediate – with renovation services already ranking among the top services by transaction value in Spain.

Key Statistics:

+500,000downloads to date

57,000 new or reactivated IKEA Family loyalty programme members since initial launch in 2 cities (Madrid and Barcelona)

4.9/5customer satisfaction rating for the service

Supporting local professionals
The app also helps local businesses to reach more customers in their communities. Professionals can register their services, access a broader customer base, and build their reputation through verified reviews.

Customer feedback in Spain has shaped the service every step of the way –driving expansion into more complex renovation services and helping more people care for and reimagine the most important place in their lives: their home. That same spirit of listening and improving is what drives the platform forward.

“What we’ve built in Spain shows that the many people want trusted, simple help for their homes. We’re ready to bring that to more people,” said Pulss.

Customers in Spain can find professionals in their area and learn more on the IKEA website.
