Spring Air International Licensee in South Korea Doubles Market Penetration

Spring Air International, a Top 20 U.S. bedding manufacturer and widely known consumer brand, said its South Korean licensee, BMB Co., Ltd. (BMB), a leading South Korean mattress and bedroom furniture specialist, is planning to more than doubled market penetration in the country, reaching 105 retail store count by the end of 2026.

The new retail locations are a mix of Spring Air authorized dealers and owned and operated BMB stores.

“What makes our relationship work so well is the continuous exchange and open dialogue we have with the Spring Air corporate team in the United States,” said Myeonggul Choi, president of BMB Co., LTD., whose company has been a licensee since 2009. “We engage in a regular conversation about manufacturing technologies, innovative materials and advanced marketing techniques, while also collaborating with licensees around the world to gain inspiration for superior product development.”

BMB currently offers 11 mattress models and one foundation. Last year, the company launched two locally produced Spring Air collections, The NOVA 1926 and the KARINA. The NOVA 1926 mattress commemorates Spring Air’s 100th anniversary and features a reversible topper, titanium wire and mini-pocket springs for robust double-layered support, while also featuring premium materials such as cashmere for an ultimate sleep experience.

The KARINA mattress incorporates eco-friendly components like camel hair, latex and coconut fiber to enhance breathability, while maintaining a comfortable humidity level during sleep. Later this year, BMB will introduce a new Spring Air luxury line featuring materials such as horsehair and wool, alongside an expanded foam mattress collection.

As the South Korean market evolves, the company notes a growing concentration of sales among trusted, established brands. “Our ultimate goal is to offer mattresses that outperform competitors across price points, and we aim to capture additional market segments as the demand for foam mattresses continues. This will further position Spring Air as a leader throughout South Korea,” added Choi.

“BMB is a trusted partner and to see the strong growth in South Korea is a testament to their expertise in producing and distributing Spring Air mattresses, said Nick Bates, president and chief executive of Spring Air. “We continue to be focused on delivering world-class products that resonate with retailers and customers around the globe, and we are confident about the future with partnerships like the one we have with BMB.”
