RH Announces Recent Opening of The Gallery on the Corso Venezia in Milan

RH announced that Chairman & CEO Gary Friedman penned a letter to the city and people of Milan announcing the recent opening of RH Mila, The Gallery on the Coso Venezia.

The letter, brought to life in a dramatic video, is a gesture of respect and recognition that, “In Milan, the measure is mastery. This we know and have designed accordingly.”

RH Milan, the Gallery on the Coso Venezia is located within a statuesque 19th-century palazzo, the former Palace of the Price of Piombino. The Gallery faces the historic Porta Venezia gates whose dramatic structures frame the entry to Corso Venezia and the center of Milan. The exterior has been expertly restored and illuminated to celebrate the building’s architectural details and historical significance.

The lobby, entered from a six-meter stone archway is reimagined as an architecture and design library. Rare books from the foundational Italian masters – Vitruvius, da Vinci, Palladio and Brunelleschi – as well as modern masters Ponti and Scarpa are included in the collection. The centerpiece is the first illustrated edition, circa 1511, of De Architectura, The Ten Books on Architecture by first century BC architect Marcus Vitruvius.

The Grand Courtyard follows through contemporary bronze and glass arches that encase the historic loggia. Seasonally, the courtyard will transform into Caffè con Giardino, serving seasonal dishes, brunch, cocktails and coffee. The Courtyard features pleached plane trees that frame collections of RH Outdoor Furniture.

The brand’s first Italian restaurant, honoring RH Chairman & CEO Gary Friedman’s mother Angelina Ascari’s Italian heritage and his uncle Geno Ascari’s love of cooking is found in an underground stone-walled cavern. La Volta is an immersive dining experience, envisioned as though it has been unearthed within the vaulted space of Crème de Mós split limestone walls and adorned with Murano glass sconces by Barovier & Toso.

At the center of the subterranean courtyard, under then soaring curved bronze and glass sky dome is Amore e Psiche by acclaimed Italian sculptor Fabio Viale. Originally unveiled in the Royal Museum of Turin, Viale reimagines Antionio Canova’s neoclassical masterpiece with his signature technique.

RH Estates debuts at RH Milan, offering an exclusive preview of the most significant product transformation in the history of the brand. RH Estates includes original designs from Michael Taylor, legendary designer and godfather of the California Look, with other recently acquired to-the-trade brands Formations, Dennis & Leen, and Joseph Jeup.

RH Estates also includes the launch of RH Couture Upholstery by Dmitriy & Co. and RH Bespoke Furniture, allowing interior designers to specify custom sizes, finishes and fabrics for their most discerning clients.

The Gallery, spanning seven levels with sweeping views of Milan, features artistic installations of furniture, antiques, artifacts and art. Visitors can immerse themselves in exhibits by global artists and carefully curated pieces.

The RH Bar & Lounge is a physical and digital immersion into the places and spaces that define the RH Brand. Experience Italian mastery while enjoying a cocktail at the illuminated cast Murano glass bar by Venetian lighting designer Sogni di Cristallo.

In addition to the artistry and beauty that is the RH Milan, the RH Interior design provides a level of professional design services, and is home to one of the largest residential design firms in the world with projects on every major continent.

RH Milan is meant to be an authentic expression of the RH vision, values and beliefs, recognizing “In Milan, the measure is mastery. This we know, and have designed accordingly.
