Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams, long recognized for its commitment to comfort, craftsmanship, and American-made upholstery, is introducing expanded custom capabilities designed to give designers greater flexibility across every project. Bench-made in North Carolina by skilled artisans, the upholstery collection continues to reflect the brand’s heritage of tailored construction and timeless design.
The enhanced custom program extends across the upholstery collection, beginning with a foundation of iconic silhouettes, pieces known for their balance, proportion, and comfort, and opening the door to full customization. Designers can now adjust overall dimensions by the inch to achieve the right scale for each space, as well as arm height and seat depth to fine-tune proportion and comfort. Finishing details, including welt, nail head trim, fringe, and contrast inside/outside, along with a range of leg and base finishes, allow for subtle definition and alignment with broader material palettes. Cushion and pillow configurations offer further flexibility, enabling designers to dial in both comfort and visual expression. The program also supports Customer’s Own Material (COM), expanding possibilities beyond the 300+ fabrics and leathers available in-line when projects call for something more specific.
“From the beginning, this brand has focused on creating pieces that feel personal, both in how they’re made and how they’re lived with,” said Darryl Webster, chief operating officer at Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams. “Expanding our custom capabilities is a natural extension of that philosophy, giving customers greater control while maintaining the craftsmanship and consistency they expect.”
This season, those capabilities extend across a refreshed assortment that balances classic and modern sensibilities. New introductions explore a soft modern point of view, defined by clean lines and subtle curves, while also revisiting timeless silhouettes with updated proportions and materials. The palette is understated and expressive, layering blush, amethyst, sienna, and adobe tones with warm, grounded neutrals such as mink, tobacco, warm whites, balsam, and hazelnut.
New pieces include the Tomas Sofa, where classic roll arms are reimagined with softened curves, a tailored tight back, and a plush bench cushion. The Perla Swivel Chair offers a more sculptural expression, with a channel-tufted back that wraps around a clean, cylindrical seat atop a hidden swivel base. The Foster Bed introduces soft structure with a strong architectural presence, its extended headboard and generous scale designed to anchor the room or float effortlessly within it. The Dante Sofa and Swivel Chair balance movement and restraint, with gracefully curved arms that envelop a tailored bench seat, creating a form that feels both composed and inviting. Rounding out the assortment, the Bennet Sofa reinterprets the classic tuxedo silhouette through a modern lens, with horizontal channeling that adds structure, rhythm, and comfort.
Designers are invited to experience the expanded custom program and stunning new introductions firsthand at the Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams showroom, IHFC G265 at the upcoming High Point Market, April 24-29.
